How do I import my contacts from another provider?

Learn how to quickly import all of your contacts from your current provider and into Infinity Interface.

If you’re moving from another email marketing system into Infinity Interface, you may want to import your existing contacts into the platform. This can be done easily by using a CSV file.

Below this video training, you will find the walkthroughs from various other email service providers that will help you to export your contacts from them.

How to Export Contacts and Import Them into Infinity Interface: A Step-by-Step Guide #

  • Exporting Contacts:
    1. Find your platform’s export instructions: Refer to the lesson description below this video for links to instructions specific to popular email marketing platforms. If yours isn’t listed, you can usually find export instructions with a quick Google search.
    2. Choose the information to export: During the export process, you’ll typically be able to select the specific data you want to bring over to Infinity Interface. We recommend including at least:
      • First Name
      • Last Name
      • Email Address
      • Phone Number (if available)
      • Tags (also known as groups or segments in other platforms)
    3. Export as CSV: Make sure to save your exported contacts as a CSV file (“.csv”).
  • Importing Contacts into Infinity Interface:
    1. Go to Contacts in Infinity Interface: Click on “Contacts” in the Infinity Interface navigation menu.
    2. Import Contacts: Click the “Import Contacts” button.
    3. Drag and Drop the CSV File: Drag and drop your saved CSV file into the designated area.
    4. Map the Information: Match the data in your CSV file to the corresponding fields in Infinity Interface. Here’s what to keep in mind:
      • Tags: If your tags are separated by commas in your CSV, Infinity Interface will recognize each comma as a separate tag. New tags will be created in Infinity Interface if they don’t already exist.
      • Unnecessary Columns: You can remove unnecessary columns from your CSV file before importing.
      • Mapping Errors: If Infinity Interface can’t match a data point in your CSV, it will be marked with a red X. You can either choose how to map it or decide to skip importing that specific field entirely.
    5. Review and Name Your Import: Ensure all data is mapped correctly, then name your import for easy reference.
    6. Test and Submit: Click “Test” to preview the import, then click “Submit” to complete the process.
    7. Verify the Import: Go back to the “Contacts” page to see your imported contacts. You can also view their tags and other information.
